Uncertainty and Doubt

I’ve done a lot of intentional work to let go of my money baggage.

I’ve meditated, visualized, manifested, done hypnosis, mantra’ed.  Anything that could be done, I’ve done.

Specifically, I’ve worked hard to let go of the stories that money is hard to come by, that you have to struggle and work hard to get money, that money is scarce, that my emotional well-being is connected to how much money I have in the bank.

I thought I had rounded a corner and I had my money gremlins slayed.

But, then, the recent drops in my crypto investments showed me otherwise.

When I saw a recent 40% drop in my (modest) crypto portfolio, all of those money stories rushed to the surface.  Fear, uncertainty and doubt announced themselves and made themselves right at home in my brain.

It was like thinking that your house is clean and finding a closet where you stuffed all of the junk.

But, there is progress.

Old Rhea would have freaked out, stewed and lost sleep.

Slightly Improved Rhea internally freaked out, took a deep breath, acknowledged that she only put in money that she would be willing to lose, committed to her HODL strategy and calmed down.

I could give into fear, uncertainty and doubt and the emotional pull of money.

OR I can acknowledge that it’s just money–a renewable and infinite resource that I can attract through my ability to create value.  There’s no reason to get emotional about money.

It’s just money.

Full disclosure: still working on fully disconnecting my self-worth from my net worth.

What money gremlins are still haunting you, my friends?  Let me know–we’re all in this boat together and these gremlins are hard to exterminate.
